Camping Höllensteinsee

Very friendly camping place. They are building a new toilet building. Has little attributes for the kids, but the river attached to the camping makes up for it. They provide toilet paper and the toilets stay very clean. I think 4 or 5 times a day they get cleaned. Owners are nice. Good place to stay for a week. Plenty of hiking opportunities close to the camping.

The place is perfect, the staff is very friendly, we loved every day! Although there's a few things that they should change soon. First of all the toillets. They get dirty very quickly and the smell is terrible. Not all the time but it hapens a lot. Toilet paper? Forget it, always bring yours, a few hours after the cleaning there is no more toilet paper for hours or until next day. If someone is using the sinks probably you will not have enough water to wash your hands at ladies toilets. If its raining you cant use the sinks, they are complety outdoor. they really should do something about this, like a roof on that area or a common area. Its very difficult (specially with kids) to have a normal bath because the water goes from cold to very hot in one second! Places next to river... Everyone likes to stay there, but they should leave 2 or 3 places unavailable for camping, so people can go swim and stop the boats easily. The kiosk has fresh bread, ice creams, coffe, drinks and again, very friendly people!!! I would like to go back, but they really should improve in some important details.

I can see from the other reviews that we are quite alone with our experience with this camping site but: A magnificent site if you are looking for tranquility, the mesmerizing effect of a river floating by your campsite and a view to soft, grassy mountains! Some extremely friendly and service minded people ran the place and they kept giving us the best service - and an extra beer! We will be back next year and we will bring our grown-up kids because we must share with them this gem in the beautiful Bavaria! Christina and Jens, Denmark

Very nice campsite immediatly next to the Höllensteinsee. Spacious places, super friendly staff and extremely nice warm showers which you don't have to pay for. I would recommend bringing a flashlight because at night the campsite is very dark but other than that we had an amazing relaxing vacaction at Camping Höllensteinsee! You can even rent campfire bowl and wood to keep you warm at night!
